g_na isn't the only one who gets to see elephant seals. Jef and I were at Point Reyes last week and found these guys on a beach that's not part of the normal rookery so we managed to get pretty close. We were so close we could see they had runny noses! I could even hear the little one snoring although he stopped before I started recording. Here's the video.

| Rattlesnake Wrestling |

Have I mentioned that I have a video blog? I set up Walking On Air Video as a place to put some of the video clips I generate when I'm hiking. I don't post there much but I have a couple of recent posts.
The first is this one of two rattlesnakes I found at Windy Point Open Space Preserve. They were twined around each other and it was like arm wrestling except the arms weren't attached to anything. Apparently its pretty rare to catch this behavior on video.

Noah has a good one: "Hadron Famine". And of course Jamie's best one involves a monkey, "Jake, Simian Wiz". |

Here's the video I made from the movie clips I took of the Merced with my new camera while I was at Yosemite a couple weeks ago. Remixable recordings are a good thing. Too bad there aren't more of them.

Big Oak Flat, California, home of the world famous Tie Dye Jerky. This is on highway 120 on the way to Yosemite. I'd like to think they sell some kind of hippie rainbow meat, but probably not.

I just set up a new SmartCast feed for boingboing. Feedburner munges boingboing's normal RSS feed and adds enclosures to items which link to audio or video. Add this feed to a media aware RSS reader like ANT or iPodder for boingboing recommended stuff to magically appear on your computer in a tivolike fashion.
White you're at it, check out Rocketboom and Walking On Air Video. Rocketboom is a kind of Daily Show for bloggers and Walking On Air is a blog I set up as a home for my elephant seal video. I've posted a couple so far and will add more some day.
